At Nightingale, we are getting ready to start celebrating Easter now that Spring has sprung! We spent time making our own chicks, using yellow playdough, feathers and googly eyes! The children couldn’t wait to show their loved ones!
At Valeswood, we celebrated Red Nose Day by icing yummy biscuits to take home with us and we painted our noses red in the sunshine!

At Imperial, we spent our day celebrating St Patrick’s Day by taking part in lots of fun activities, including making our own Irish flags, glittery shamrocks, Leprechaun masks and painting rainbows! The children were very excited to take home all of their amazing crafts and show their loved ones!
At Winlaton, we have been carrying out some science experiments to celebrate Science Week! Our Blossoming 1 room explored cause and effect by combining coke and mentos together to create an explosion! Our Blossoming 2 room enjoyed exploring how to make bubbles by using different tools and equipment. The children loved using the hula hoop to make big bubbles around them!

At Imperial, spring has sprung at Forest School! Even though it may still be very muddy, the beautiful spring flowers are starting to pop up and bloom!
The children have loved being able to jump in muddy puddles and get messy throughout the winter, however we are all looking forward to spring arriving and going on worm hunts and planting new vegetables and seeds in the growing patch!
Our Imperial setting celebrated World Book Day by inviting everyone to come dressed up as their favourite book character! The children looked amazing and brought in their books with them to share and read with their friends.
The children were very busy taking part in book themed activities and loved making their own bookmarks to take home with them. Thank you to all of our parents for putting so much effort in to their children’s costumes!
At our Winlaton setting, the children had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day! The children took part in various book themed activities, including some of our favourites- ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.
The children loved showing off their costumes and making their own bookmarks to take home with them.
At St Mary’s we have enjoyed our weekly yoga session- Mindfulness focus with Vanessa, participating in poses and relaxation techniques. We took part in our PE session with ‘YSD’, understanding the importance of physical activity and we enjoyed expressing ourselves through music and dance with Michael from ‘Jumping Beans’.

At Imperial, we have been working on our personal development and focusing on children’s mental health. The Preschooler’s took part in an activity where they had to draw themselves. The children used mirrors to support this and spoke about the colour of their eyes, if their hair was long or short and how many teeth they had. We also spoke about the differences between people, which the children did positively and understood that not everyone is the same and that this is a good thing!

At St Marys, we took part in a number of maths activities to celebrate NSPCC Number Day 2022. Our children enjoyed developing their maths skills in fun, positive ways. We made number caterpillars and the children independently wrote their numbers, we completed puzzles and matched cubes with the correct numbers.
The children had lots of fun and couldn’t wait to tell their parents about their great day!
Last week at Valeswood, we celebrated Chinese New Year by making our own tiger masks as it is the year of the tiger! We also tried traditional food and spoke about how it tasted and if we liked it or not. Each child got to take home a lucky red envelope with a special chocolate coin in it!
To celebrate Australia Day at Nightingale, we made our own didgeridoos! We used paint, tape and our imaginations to create a masterpiece! The children used their fingerprints to create the spots on their didgeridoos and had a little help from their teachers to apply the tape to their creations. We had so much fun celebrating Australia Day!
