We had a very busy week at Imperial, celebrating the King’s Coronation and taking part in many different activities! We did crafts, explored playdough, had a ‘Royal’ Forest School session, built our own London landmarks and had a fancy tea party! The children had lots of fun throughout the week and were excited to watch the King’s Coronation!

At Nightingale, we invited all of the children and their parents in for a party to celebrate the King’s Coronation! We did crafts in the garden and made our own crowns and flags to wave around! We also used our fine motor skills, during a fun activity, to spoon the red, white and blue rice into bowls! It looked like the British flag!

At Valeswood, we have been working in our growing garden, spending time planting herbs, flowers and vegetables! We have been learning about the materials and resources that we need to do good planting. The children have been able to hands-on explore natural materials in their environment and are very excited to taste the herbs and vegetables that we are growing!

To celebrate St George’s Day at Valeswood, we decorated shields using sequins and gems to make them shiny! We also coloured in dragons and knights to take home with us!

At Imperial, we celebrated Earth Day! The Baby room introduced the babies to recyclable materials and using them to junk model. They also joined in with messy play, exploring the coloured shaving foam and sea animals. The Toddler room planted their own cress in mini watering cans, using their fine motor skills to pinch the seeds and sprinkle them in the soil. They can’t wait to watch them grow!

The Preschoolers spent the day in Forest School taking part in a nature hunt, finding birds, bugs, leaves and flowers. They also used their fine motor skills to make their own Pom poms to look like Earth. They worked together to play some sunflower seeds in our growing areas!

At Imperial, we had lots of fun celebrating Eid, following on from our celebrating Ramadan! The children in Preschool made lanterns and posters, which were full of colour and glitter! They also designed their own Mehndi patterns, and one of their teachers drew their designs onto their hands!

Imperial had their very own Easter egg hunt! All of the children took part, including the Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school! The Pre-schoolers did their Easter egg hunt in the Forest School area, searching high and low for yummy treats. The children practised their sharing skills and helped each other to find the eggs!

At Valeswood, the children made their own egg-citing Easter magnets to take home with them! The children used their fine motor skills to stick festive themed stickers onto their egg magnets and also got to explore different materials and textures. Their finished crafts looked amazing and very colourful!

During Easter week at Imperial, the Baby Room had an amazing time celebrating and taking part in fun activities! The Babies loved having their Easter tea party and made their own bunny headbands to wear! One of their favourite activities of the week was the Eater texture tuff tray! The babies thought it was very funny putting the shredded tissue paper over their heads and shouting ‘BOO!’. What a fun filled week!

Last Week at Nightingale, we have been doing lots of Easter activities. On Monday, we had an Easter egg hunt in the beautiful garden, which included an obstacle course to find our yummy treats! On Friday, we invited our parents to come along and enjoy a Easter Bonnet parade! The child sung their Easter songs and paraded their beautiful bonnets that they made. Throughout the week we also made Easter crafts to take home with us- what a fun week!

At Imperial, the Preschoolers took part in an Easter lambs painting activity! The children used their fine motor skills to pinch the cork and dip it in paint to mark make on the lamb, creating a wool texture. The children thought it was funny when they started to recognise that adding the paint made it into a lamb. The children are excited to continue their Easter fun next week, especially looking forward to the Easter egg hunt!

There has been something very egg-citing happening at Imperial! We have been hatching our own ducklings! The children have had so much fun watching the process- waiting for the eggs to hatch, the ducklings transitioning from incubator to cage and watching them change and grown throughout the last two weeks. The children have been amazing and caring to them, giving them soft strokes and holding them! The ducklings are going to be missed very much!
