At Valeswood, we celebrated and raised money for Red Nose Day 2023! The children joined in wearing red and made their own red noses, using lots of red glitter! The children also used their fine motor skills to drip and spread icing onto biscuits to make yummy red noses! What a day full of fun!

The Baby room at Imperial have been busy taking part in a ‘no mess’ painting activity! The babies used their motor skills to push the paint around in the folder, creating marks on the paper. Their artwork looked beautiful and they took them home to show their parents/ carers!

At Imperial, all of the rooms spent the day celebrating St David’s Day! The children took part in various activities, including exploring playdough, making their own flags, painting dragons and making daffodils! The children learnt about the Welsh flag and can now identify the colours and what animal is on it!

At Valeswood, we celebrated World Book Day by inviting the children to join the staff in dressing up as their favourite characters! The children all looked amazing and loved showing each other their costumes. The children spent the day exploring their imaginations, having fun and reading lots of stories!

At Nightingale, we celebrated World Book Day by inviting the children to come dressed up as their favourite characters. The staff looked great and so did all of the children! We had lots of fun and spent time reading our favourite books that the children brought in with them!

At Imperial, we invited the children to come to nursery dressed up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day! Both the children and the staff looked amazing and took part in fun activities throughout the day! These included- ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ home corner, a ‘Three Little Pigs’ interactive tuff tray, Elmer the Elephant collage, counting and sorting dinosaurs and we made our own bookmarks that looked like book worms!

The children had a fantastic day and enjoyed listening to lots of stories, as well as writing their own stories!

At Valeswood, we have been focusing on ‘Healthy Eating’. The children have been taking part in various activities, including fruit and vegetable sorting, fruit playdough exploration, healthy eating plates and mark making different foods. The children also learnt about exercise and why this helps towards ‘Healthy Living’. The children spent time exercising in their weekly PE lessons and when spending time outside!

At Imperial, the Preschoolers, Toddlers and Babies all took part in a pancake themed day to celebrate Shrove Tuesday! We all made our own pancakes, choosing our favourite toppings and decorating them ourselves. The children also explored playdough and experimented with using different tools and textures. We set up some craft activities and had messy play using flour! What a fun day!

At Valeswood, we spent Shrove Tuesday taking part in pancake themed activities! At snack time we ate our own pancakes and chose what topping that we wanted. We also made playdough pancakes, experimenting with different tools and textures. We used paint to design our own pancakes- making them bright colours!

Our Preschoolers at Imperial spent Valentine’s Day in Forest School making love potions! The children were very excited when they saw the pink mixture and couldn’t wait to start exploring! The children used test tubes, pipettes, flowers, bowls and funnels to create their own love potions! The children were engaged and used their motor skills to pour, mix and transfer the liquid. We had a blast celebrating Valentine’s Day!

At Valeswood, we celebrated Valentine’s Day and Children’s Mental Health week- we spoke about caring for each other, the people we love and what makes us happy, sad and sharing our feelings.

We also made Valentine’s cards for the people we love, using little heart buttons to create one big heart!

At Valeswood, we spent time celebrating Story Telling Week! We focused on many of our favourite books, including ‘Dear Zoo’, ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and ‘Elmer the Elephant’. The children’s favourite activity of the week was making our own giant Gingerbread Man, using our motor skills to paint and draw on the character!
