We have bought some new resources to enhance our construction area, creating this lovely space for the children to build/create and imagine, developing all areas of their learning.
We are focussing on healthy eating and have a Greengrocer shop where the children have been role-playing as shopkeepers and customers, while learning about fruit and vegetables.
ST Mary’s are very excited to be back and have a new room layout to support the latest government guidance. The children have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all their friends and teachers and have been engaging in a virtual P.E sessions with Yanki.
We have returned to Pre-school in two groups, Busy Bee’s and Amazing Ants. Each group of children have learnt the new routines that we have put into place. They are all very happy to be back and have enjoyed playing in the garden and doing lots of activities with their teachers and peers. We have been dancing, reading books, learning shapes, playing games and doing various crafts. Each group also used their art skills to make an animal for their group.
Our Imperial Way Pre-School children have been very busy creating Rainbow necklaces to show their continued support to the NHS! The children really enjoyed picking out all of the colours they wanted to use and showed fantastic control when colouring their Rainbow’s. They were extremely excited to show their parent’s at home time too!
We are so excited to be back at nursery, especially attending our Forest School sessions again! The children thoroughly enjoy exploring and observing the nature around them. All of the children developed their physical skills further by climbing and balancing and transporting different items around the Forest School area.
We are running a French group once a week with a regular parent helper, she is teaching French, using singing, puppets and crafts.
We are also collecting the children’s favourite songs and compiling a CD so that the children can listen to their favourite songs at preschool. So far we have a varied range of music such as Starman by David bowie, Bambolao by the Gypsy Kings, Yellow Submarine by The Beatles to name a few.

We were so thrilled when for Lewisham East visited to officially open our new nursery in Winlaton Road, Downham. We had a lovely afternoon celebrating with our parents and children enjoying the summer sun with a picnic.
